So this weekend, like many weekends found me out on the town living it up! Dressed in heels with pearls in my ears being ushered into fabulous establishments with glasses clinking and sparkling conversation. As if.... Not even..... Close....
This weekend found me frantically driving from garage sale to estate sale to backyard hoard. All in 110 degree weather. In the Camry....
Note my fancy getup. Sexy right?
I know...I know...it's what I do, right? But this time the stakes were a little higher. I have a booth to fill at Junk In The Trunk Vintage Market in San Diego this weekend and not much time to do it.
Anyone love gears? Wait til you see what I do with these!!
Toolboxes! Don't mind if I do!
Can you guess what I'll do with that window? See HERE for a clue!
Now I ask myself...Self? Don't you have a garage full and a side yard full and an office full of wonderful projects in the making? So I answered myself...Self...Yes I do, but you don't get it! Those things either: 1) require too much work 2) don't "go" with my look 3) won't fit into the tetris I have planned for packing So I find myself out on the town. Wearing my grubbies and packing gloves.
Sweating.....
Swearing.... And packing it all into a Camry Thanks to all of those whose path I crossed this weekend. Had a blast!
I made it! I survived!! I feel like I should have a t-shirt....It was too much work and too much fun and just the right amount of being surrounded by people that I love and that "get" what speaks to me. In other words it was a blast and I am now getting geared up and excited for the July Market in lovely San Diego, CA. As you can imagine I don't need my arm twisted to go to the beach in July!
But here is the debrief of this fun market.
First we started by lining up the trucks. Did I mention that I drove a U-haul all on my own? And there were no casualties (that I know of)
Then while we waited in the line of trucks to be guided into our spot, the interns provided entertainment.
Here are way, way, way too many photos of my first vintage market booth...but here goes it in all it's evolutions.....the constant changing was sure fun!!
I showed just a bit of DIY Paint to let people know that Laura and I were dealers and painters. It was a bit too hot in Scottsdale to do too much paint outside!
A little bit of something for everyone. Those breadboards were sold out in a flash! Now to get more!!
My beautiful daughter Ricky's jewelry. She's so talented!!
Love these mini baking tins! They would look so cute in a glass apothecary!
Breadboards and Dough Bowls and Spools oh my!!
Stack em high!!
My fave piece is the sweet curio cabinet! The hit of my booth for sure!
I've been a madwoman! Not to minimize my normal, everyday, garden variety madness...but this is to a whole 'nother level! This is crazy spinning in circle chasing my tail until I fall over madness. The good news is there are very few humans here to witness it. Only The Puppers.. and he just looks down his nose at me and shakes his head. He better stay out of my way because if he doesn't he may get painted because I'm in full #partylikeajunker mode!! What is that you ask?
Junk in the Trunk is a Scottsdale phenomenon that you have to experience to understand. Check out the video! It's unbelievable!
